The last few days in Cute Overload (CO)

Have left me tired.  I've had to huff way too many kittehs/wombats/hamsters to try to get through the hater comments. therefore, I'm putting them ON NOTICE!

You've been warned.  Watch out!

NOTE: the above picture was created using the "The Stephen Colbert "On Notice Board" Generator "  available at this website,
just fill in the blanks and you too can put those folks or things that annoy you "On Notice!"…

edited 9/29/2006@10:18AM: rewrote title to include full name (Cute Overload) and added a link to a CO post exemplifying what I mean by haters.

according to this OK Cupid text.  the OK Cupid tests are fairly competent, I think.

anyhoo, to the results:

You are a

Social Liberal
(85% permissive)

and an…

Economic Liberal

(30% permissive)

You are best described as a:

Strong Democrat

You exhibit a very well-developed sense of Right and Wrong and believe in economic fairness.  d'Oh. doesn't everybody?

yep. another blue voter in a red state
yeah, yeah, I know.  pinko commie. whatevs.

I’m a nerdy nerd nerd

Even more so than I thought, according to this test in OK Cupid, The Nerd?Geek?or Dork? Test made available by saska and Lauri.  this test also made me realize that I want to be David Bodavid's  BFF.  why?  because his results state that folks like DB: "…they can also be the types to eventually rule the world, ala Bill Gates, the prototypical Outcast Genius."

at any rate, I am a:

                                                            Pure Nerd
86 % Nerd, 39% Geek, 39% Dork

You scored better than half in Nerd, earning you the title of: Pure Nerd.

The times, they are a-changing. It used to be that being exceptionally smart led to being unpopular, which would ultimately lead to picking up all of the traits and tendences associated with the "dork." No-longer. Being smart isn't as socially crippling as it once was, and even more so as you get older: eventually being a Pure Nerd will likely be replaced with the following label: Purely Successful.

There is a difference between being smart and erudite. I am the second due to reading anything that falls in my hands and being curious about mostly everything.  smart I wouldn't call myself.

Lebowski Fest in Louisville

the fifth annual Lebowski fest in Louisville is September 29-October 1 2006.  I must add that even though other Lebowski fests are celebrated around the country, Louisville's is the original one.  so sayeth Wikipedia
                             I love the Big Lebowski.

                             I heart the Jesus.
Biggest day is Saturday September 30th, including an all-you-can-bowl-garden-party!.  of course, I'm working that day. [cries; weeps].   I'm thinking to at least go Friday night to catch the double feature:

for more
pretty-things-to -look-at, here are some of the Louisville Lebowski Fest posters.  Nixon is the current one.

tortie cats

there have been some discussions about the, ahem, *special* nature of tortoishell i.e. "tortie" cats in CO and by  some of the bloggers here in Vox that share quarters with torties, like saska and lurkertype.  Torties are mos' def in their own class and follow the beat of (their own) drummer.
a while back Slate had a write-up by Jon Katz on his first-ever cat, a tortie known as 'Mother', for her tendency to treat every kitten she came across as her very own.  Mother holds the position of "cat barn and rat-catcher" at Katz's farm. I enjoyed the article very much, specially because Mother is a good example of what I think of is the tortie-character.  here's the article.
