CSA week 8 – July 4 2008

happy 4th!

broccoli, cauliflower, cucumber, garlic scapes, green zucchini and yellow crookneck squashes, daikon radish, swiss chard.
tons of stuff.  this early in the season I'm already sick of the squashes – not too fond of them to begin with.

the daikon should be interesting. the only way I've ever had it is shredded, a garnish in a sushi plate.

  1. I was going to say, "Nice parsnip you got there" but you claim it's a daikon. WTH is that? Okay, I can google it, never mind.

  2. I understand about the squash… i'm growing three types and i love them all, but can never eat enough. i take them to work… and the kentucky wonders are ready to eat too, but so far i've picked them only for my house birds. i don't know what's wrong with me. there's chard in the yard that's about to bolt and i haven't had a leaf. i should send these precious veggies to you!
