Stars in my Pocket Like Grains of Sand – NaBloPoMo 2010

Stars in my Pocket Like Grains of Sand: beautiful title, no?

Stars in my Pocket Like Grains of Sand by Samuel Delany

TSimPLGoS is the story of  Korga, who becomes known as Rat Korga after undergoing a form of psychic surgery, Radical Anxiety Termination (RAT), that turns Korga into a passive being, a slave.  he then goes through several masters and adventures until he meets Marq Dyeth, a powerful diplomat.

in TSimPLGoS Delany presents an universe of thousands of human-inhabited worlds, many of which humans share with aliens; in this universe sexual mores are wider, including promiscuity and interspecies sex, and it is common for relationships to be among unequals.

  1. One of the best damn sci-fi novels ever. I’m glad you listed this one. It was one of the earliest texts to deal with non-heterosexual relationships and gender-bending (if aliens can be said to have gender).
